Isn't that the truth. To drive a car we have to be 16 years old, have driver training, take a written exam, have a certain number of hours practicing with an adult, and then take a driving exam (because driving is a privilege). A license not permission should be required, after parenting class, anger management class, financial management class, sex ed., health class, and each parent should have to write an essay on family that has to be accepted by a child welfare type agency before anyone gets the privilege of becoming a parent.

Of course, I heard in a movie that you need a license to drive a car but anyone can have a kid. (parenthood) I work as a grade school teacher in a very low income district and believe me I've seen some parents who should have been sterilized shortly after puberty. I'm on a first name basis with the woman at CPS that I call every other day, sometimes twice a day. However, the whole "permission to have a kid" issue could indeed spiral into something very bad. ie limit on how many children, and whether or not you should abort female children in favor of male children. The whole thing is a slippery slope I'm afraid. If anything the adoption system should loosen up a bit, that way children who do get taken away from their useless parents have an actual fighting chance at being adopted (hopefully not by Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell).

i come from a very very large family, between my husband and i we have 19 sibiling and we have a total of 23 neice's and nephew's, and two more on the way, we are pretty much a close knit family, all takes very very good care of their kids
my husband and i are the only ones who can not have children, and nothing erks me more then when i see, on the news crack babies born, abused children, and neglicfull parents, its people like them that should just automatically get no premision to have any, and put on permanate birth control,
if not give the child to some one who will love and care and support that child from birth, without the extreame high cost of paying for lawyers and all the red tape, 15 years ago when my husband and i inquired about adoption, here in canada first, i was shocked at the fees, and waiting, list what were they waiting for, there are so many children that need a home, its enough to make me cry, and to adopt overseas is even more,
i use a big part of my time volenteering with children and teenagers, and what i see saddens me to no end, i give those kids more love and support in my two hours a day then their parents give them in their whole young life, so yes i wish they would do something about it..

Yes, I think we should have a law restricting how many children people can have and unmarried people cannot have children.
It is cruel to raise a child without a real mother and father in a loving home. Not a liter but one or two children should be sufficient. These unmarried drug addicted women having 9 kids all in foster homes should be against the law. And teenage girls having babies when they are still babies. Give them a norplant or take a pill. If they can't keep their pants on.
Why are women so disfunctional.

to Bruno, usually those young women are "dysfunctional" because some jerk is telling them how much he loves them just to get a piece of ***. Now in answer to your question. We do not need more govt. in our lives. We do need govt. to make some changes to their welfare programs. I am a nurse in MS and it's white and black young people having babies they can't take care of. Adoption if it were made easier would be an answer to providing children to loving families who desperately want them. I also have a problem with the incredibly wealthy who have kids that are raised by a bunch of nannies while mommy and daddy are jetting all over the world do everything but being parents. As to the single family home, a single parent can raise a very well adjusted, productive member of society if they try. I know, I did it.

Yes, I'm tired of it, but no I don't think having to get permission is the answer. I'm not sure what is, but China tried the permission thing and now they're in a world of hurt.

Right on! I see so many babies being born out of wed lock on TV shows like Maury Polvich etc. that it makes me sick. Plus some people shouldn't have children since they aren't able to raise them properly etc.

I don't wish that they had permission to have children, I just wish that they would treat them better.

i hear you man. however wat iz worse is when they just keep having sex and if she gets pregnant they do abortion. com on people - have sex when you are ready and with the right person. (dont give me this "i used a condom" bs or "we were in the moment" bs) have some control people. and for those people who did it the right way teach your kids some respect - dont let them be like animals and let them do watever they want. youre the parent -grow up.
(by the way this was not directed to you man - i was just letting off some steam)
