A friend. I no longer talk to this person. She has no idea that I know what she has done. I am pleasant to her if we are near each other.

Hey, KK. :) First of all, many people love you and care about you, myself included, but to answer your question simply, it's okay to feel lonely sometimes even with the most active social life in the world. Great invention stems from loneliness, you know. How do you think the Mona Lisa got painted? (Bad example? Totally, but anyhoo...) Sometimes, the best of friends, the people you get along with and have fun with and listen to you, aren't any replacement for a good family support system. Sure, friends help tremendously, but the fact is that they can't be there for you all the time in any situation like your family can. Maybe that's why you're having trouble sleeping, because it's late and your friends are probably asleep, and it's the one time you are really going to need to rely on family should something happen. That's not to say friends aren't great, they're invaluable, and in many ways more important than family in my opinion. But they can't fill all the gaps. You need your father to be there, your nana to be there, your mother to be there (though that's a whole other issue), and when they aren't, it's the loneliest feeling in the world! It's seems you've tried everything to get them to notice that you need them present more than they are, but maybe you just need to be around them a little more. For example, go sit in the living room and read or watch TV while your dad is working on his computer in the room or something. Go to your nana's house and just chat while she makes dinner or does some work. Just being in the same vicinity as someone is often enough to make you feel a whole lot less lonely. And remember, there's no such thing as an unjustified feeling. If you're feeling it, you have a right to be feeling it, and don't let anyone tell you you're being dramatic or overreacting or should be feeling something different. If you're feeling lonely, there's a reason for it! I would also consider that you have some anxiety/depression issues that might be completely biological contributing to your sense of loneliness. That's no big deal, many people do, but are you still seeing a therapist? If so, definitely bring it up with her, and maybe even make a doctor's appointment to talk about it. As for the insomnia, don't lie in bed trying to get to sleep. Get up, read a lighthearted book or watch some lighthearted TV, and then try again. - Be well :)

It is still painful to even talk about,; but it was a supposed GF,and she started spreading **** about me bevcause I was going thru a very very bad time, and behaving badly. Instead of trying to help or understand, she spread poisonous things around.
We are both 45, and it never ceases to amaze me how vicious girls can be to one another, no matter the age.
Recently she has had some setbacks in her life, while mine has improved. She has begun to call me and cry on my shoulder about how she can't believe how bitchy people can be,etc....and I just want to shake her, and scream, do you realize what you are saying?
My other friends, say be the bigger person, get over it, she needs you,but honestly, I am so tired of turning the other cheek, pretending nothing happened, nothing ws said.

How about you?

my boss who was a friend - then has done nothing but de-motivate me and other members of my team. That I guess is what happens when you get a promotion through threatening to quit - not by earning it. Unfortunately - while I remain in my job - yes - I still have to talk to him.

A best friend, went to another girls birthday party instead of mine because that's where her boyfriend wanted to go. We parted ways, made up a bit later but were never close friends again.
I don't see why she could have stayed at my birthday and let her boyfriend go to the other one. Especially because her boyfriend was only making her choose to prove to me that she would always do what he said instead of me.

Long story short, but a good friend of mine became friends with my ex's new wife. And she would call me and get info out of me about my new life...ect all the while telling the new wife every single thing we talked about. Plus she "my friend" would talk bad about me to the new wife. And kiss up to me to my face. Anyways I found out about it and it's going on 3 1/2 yrs I haven't spoke to her and I never intend on it.. theres a lot more to it but...
