If you keep up the good work the rest of this year and for the last two years of high school than you can but here is what you have to do.

At many schools they offer AP classes if you are up for them they are advanced college classes in which if you get A's in them at most schools they will give you extra GPA points. I think that instead of an A equaling 4 points and AP A= 5 points. Also if you study enough throughout the year you have to take an AP test at the end of the course. If you get enough points on it you can get college credits also but I have heard it is very hard to pass so study up!

I am also a sophmore this year and will be taking AP English for 11th graders! Wish me good luck and good luck to you reaching your goals!

nope... a 4.0 by definition is all A's, only A's. you can get close if you keep doing well though. the only other thing that would help is if your school has weighted classes (honors/AP classes) that are sometimes valued with an extra grade point (eg A=5.0, B=4.0, etc.). Don't stress too much though... freshman grades aren't extremely important for getting into college, etc... just keep doing your best.

Yes, it is impossible for you to get a 4.0 average if you have one grade that is less than an "A".

A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
E = 0

If you take five classes each year for four years and get an "A" in everything except that one class, your averages would be as follows:

freshman: 3.4
sophomore: 4.0 (3.7 cumulative)
junior: 4.0 (3.8 cumulative)
senior: 4.0 (3.85 cumulative)

Three A's will "erase" a F, so two+ will help you.
