Liverpool capitalized on opportunities. Both sides were presented with them. They persisted and played their way back into the match and Barca were too unsettled by that to remain focused often losing their composure and rhythm. Barcelona will be working hard at Anfield to rectify the problems they had today. It will be a very good match next leg. Good Luck to them both.

Mistakes are not luck. They are mistakes. Mistakes that Barca made that gave Liverpool the opportunity to win. That is what happens in most cases when goalkeepers "mistakenly" concede goals (bc you know, they don't usually concede them on purpose). Liverpool played the upper hand, and they did a good job finding the right opportunities to get the goals in. It wasn't luck that Liverpool won. It was just the cirmcumstances of the game and what happened during the game that allowed them to win.

Some really silly answers here I'm a match goer and no one thinks that we're just going to win the europa. But at the same time, we haven't became a bad side overnight. We finished 2nd last season and got to champs league quarters, and we've only sold one first team player and bought Johnson and Aquilani We're in a bad patch and we'll get out of it I've seen all of the top four in this situation over the last decade including man united The europa will be a tough test but we're confident as any team should be Stop talkin boloni!!

I really think Liverpool were the better team in this match. A draw would maybe been OK, but if some should deserve to win, it was Liverpool.

No way Pedro.
I watched it with my mate who supports Barca and I called it well, bully Puyol and you take the fight out of Barca, they would have fallen over if you breathed on them and Ronaldinho as good as he is only has 20 minutes left in his inflated belly.
Whinge away, Barca will never win the cup as many times as liverpool. And it was Belletti who let Bells in, typical Barca can't take a scrap against the English.

If you consider luck hard work and opportunism coming together. Barcelona had chances but coul not capitalize. Lucky? I guess, but a win is a win and you have to give it up. Claiming that the other team being lucky because your team made mistakes is being a poor sport.

Not luck - Liverpool forced the mistakes - the keeper was confused and intimidated and back on his heels.... A mistake by a defender isn't luck - it's football! They make mistakes when you attack attack attack so they can't think!

i don't think so, they show great Carita and deserve every praise for the striking win away from home, it was a great performance by both team, but it was Liverpool who show calmness in front of goal and the result proves it.
