I know that sounds like a line from "The Matrix", but could he be the one to go to Washington and really defie the entrenched powers of both, supposedly opposing, parties? I certainly hope someone gets in there and uses the "Bully Pulpit" to bypass the rulers, so that We The People can support someone for a change
and maybe take our country back.

patriot07, I'm kinda embarrased to type that, do you care to elaborate. Or is character assination your only goal. I think people have seen enough character assination and I doubt that is going to work this time.

wrepete, "a flaming liberal"? My friend by todays standards Barry Goldwater, Mr. Conservative, would be considered a liberal.

bubkiss, no they will not lose the next election. They won't lose because money gets them elected and you and I don't have enough to pay for cigars they smoke in the back room when they discuss how they're going to keep us fooled.

sambucca, as far as I'm concerned lack of DC experience is an asset. The one is not gonna be one of them.

Yupchagee, GWB never ran a successful business in his life and nothing changed after he took office. If people want change, I think we might have to start thinking outside the box.

yea obama has a good chance. we have alot of firsts in this election.

first black man with a legitimate chance
first woman with a very legitimate chance

i really hope he wins. show them wrong. i like his values. but people are going to say hes inexperienced. if you ask me he shows great promise. his level of growth has grown much in just 2 yrs hasnt it. give him four years in office and itll be amazing to watch what he can do.

Well, I can say this. When all the other Democratic candidates were with the people of the unions, Obama was off on his own in Iowa.

What I don't understand is why the hell senators are out there campaigning now, yet they stand and tell everyone how they want the military to come home. That's a load, as far as I'm concerned. Every last one of them should be in their seats AT WORK fixing and voting on that final resolution for Iraq. They rant and rave and are intolerant and totally against GWB, but they're away from their desks for WAY TOO LONG serving up their own interest instead of that of this nation. I don't call that good, I call it a 'lack of responsibility. Who cares what they have on their platform. Isn't this war more important?? They make it their business to tear it down, but are they actually DOING anything but caring about themselves?

No. He is WAY to far left & clueless about how to run anything other than a Senate office. The last time he was in a leadership position was in law school. If elected, he will be crushed by the "permenent government".

There were many people who believed John F. Kennedy was too young, too inexperienced,... but this President stared down the Cuban Missile Crisis and shamed/ exposed the Russians backing it. For 24 hours , with missiles pointing toward the US, he listened to his intelligence and a true catastrophe was avoided. I see the same qualities in the young, and yes... inexperienced Obama ..but like the young Kennedy, I believe his heart is in the right place and that he will listen to his advisors.

Several points about your question. First, Obama will never even run for president. He is too young and inexperienced plus his background is questionable. Give him 10 more years and then, MAYBE? If Hillary runs, the Republicans (with the proper candidate) will win. Not too many bright people want her for president. The people of the USA can and do (from time to time) tell the government how they feel and the boys in Washington at times listen. If they don't then they will lose the next election.

I cannot possibly understand the delusion you are suffering from. Obama is simply another very, very liberal politician with a nice smile and personality hiding behind a very socialist mind and intent.

I don't know if he means well or not but I do know his record and he would be a tragdy for this Country.

Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.

Are you serious?
Obama is not the one.
Obama is pro-Israel and he wants to bomb Iran. The "one" would treat Israel like any other nation and the "one" would realize that Iran is not doing anything wrong under the NPT.
