How come it seems like everyone has more sense than me?

Do you think that my foster family drilled it into my head about this person & that person has more sense than me? I have a college degree, & here are 8 & 9-yr. old children telling me that my decisions don't make any sense. What's wrong with me? Am I really slow & retarded?

i think we all make silly decisions sometimes and i think that after bein mentally abused, ur self conscience about the things you do which makes your situation worse. obviously you're not slow if you can sit here and analyze your situation and identify your foster family's words as a reason behind ur problem. girl dont stress

I am so sorry if your foster family did that to you. I am a foster parent and I would never do that to a child.We all make poor decisions now and then! Maybe you have a lot on your mind. If you really feel like something is wrong then get checked out. If you have a degree you are probably fine. I know I have made a few poor choices that my mother didn't understand.

Don't continue to tell yourself the things others have used to bring you down. I know it's easy for those same voices to whisper in your ear but you can tell yourself positive things to counter them. Look at what you've accomplished and focus on the things you're good at. Why are you listening to children? They are experts at finding people's weakness and going for it! That's why school is such a nightmare for people. You're not slow or retarded if you got through college girl! Give yourself some positive reinforcement and repeat them to yourself. I know it sounds trite but it really works!

the 8 and 9s probably saw adults do it, and it seemed to work, so they do it. I've seen children berate their mom because dad does it and it works.

it sounds like you have low self-esteem, and your foster family may have contributed or originated this.

Seek counselling.
