Does anyone know where I can research Microsoft in the software industry and AT&T in the telecommunications industry to compare and contrast their performance over the last five years. Comparing the two companies with special reference to the economic and environmental factors affecting their business during this time.

I think I am looking for the annual reports right?

Go to Yahoo Finance and type MSFT in for the microsoft symbol and T for the AT & T stock symbol. Everything you need for your project will be on the first page or links.

Good Luck.

The annual reports are one way to do it but remember that annual reports are a lot of PR fluff because they are issued by the company themselves. Of course they provide a lot of usefull raw data but the analysis of the performance will be one sided. If you go that route I would supplement the annual reports by analyzing the comapny's S&P reports and/or Morningstar reports for the periods in which you are analyzing the companies. If you want to get more detail you can also review all their SEC filings.
