Is Battlestar Galactica hurting for new material?

The season started out with such an awesome rescue from New Caprica, but ever since then it seems to have been kind of dragging. Each season seems to be a little worse than the previous season. Season 1 was incredibly awesome. Season 2 was pretty good. Season 3 started out fantastic but lately it's been kinda boring. There seems to be a lot of filler stuff and not much that's connected to the overall storyline. Anyone else feel the same way?

I don't think it's really that BSG is getting worse. It's actually following a pattern it set for itself ages ago. Season one had to set things up, of course, and then the beginning of season two was fast-paced in comparison. From there we have season 2.5 which had its moments but wasn't anything particularly special...all leading up to a fantastic ending. Season three is doing the same thing. It started itself up fast-paced and brilliant. 3.5 is just sort of setting things up for the finale which, if history repeats itself, will be amazing.

Just gotta look at things half-full, not half empty.

P.S. In my opinion the only thing that has sucked about the season so far was the writers' insistence on focusing on the love triangle, er, square. That'll be all over soon....followed by brief angst, probably, but then it'll work itself out, I think.

I still think the show is great but have to agree with you. Every once in a while there is a great show thrown in, but as you said there is just too much filler as of late.

new writers are needed, that are not afraid to let theircreative juces flow., or sway away from some narrow minded producer, that refuses to look beyond the end of his nose.
