Buried in the middle of this is the beginning of the change from when no Republican (the party of Lincoln) could be elected in the south, so they were all Conservative Democrats who considered it a reasonable slander to label someone liberal. Now they are all Republicans and use the slander on each other in the primaries and on any remaining Democrats in the elections. This year, everyone hated Bush so much that Democrats took over in Dallas County when the Republicans were expecting a 1000 year Rei.... a dynasty.

Don't think your daddy's parable "works" because it assumes that ALL liberals and ALL conservatives are 100% exactly alike. Neither group is monolithic. Many people fall in the middle. Also, this parable assume that 100% of every rich person worked very hard to become rich, and 100% of every poor person is just a partier that doesn't give a rat's patoot. Some rich folk inherited their wealth, some people work hard for a long time, and then their job gets shipped to India or some other part of the world. I don't think the issues this partisan parable seeks to tell is as black and white as portrayed.

No. I am a liberal and was brought up a liberal in a white, eastern-European, heavily Catholic and religious, working class neighborhood. Most children did not attend college and went to work in the steel mills or automobile factories. Most went to and still go to chruch and lead fairly religious lives. This doesn't really jive with your description of liberals that I am familiar with.

Accurate...always consider the souce of your information.

It is a shame in this country all of politics has become nothing more than a polorized hate-field.

"Liberals" "Conservatives"...both parties are enough to make a sane person PUKE. BOTH are self-serving entities which long ago abandoned the United States of America in favor of the United Corporations of America...

Been around the country...a lot different than 20-30 years ago...the same WAL-MART's, Cosco's, Red Lobster, Home Depot, ad nauseum. America rubber stamped by business grads
hell bent on nothing but greed(because the money makes up for all those "issues")

what are your sources for this, or did you make this up? i didn't read all of it but some things look right and others were not. it really depends on the person not there political idea's. I know plenty of liberals that go to church, and conservatives that dont. we as a country have to get away from this and see each other as americans.

Looks fairly accurate, except I wouldn't call them Liberal Democrats unless you defined at least one or two other kind of Democrat.
