Are you going to be performing in this excerpt, or will you be directing?

Either way...I would recommend that you put together the business between the four young lovers (Demetrius, Lysander, Helena, Hermia) in Act 3, scene ii. It can be played VERY broadly for laughs.

As for facts on the play...it has always struck me that the key to the play is the relationship between Oberon and Titania. And I didn't make that up; it's right there in the text. In Act 2, scene i, Titania's appeal to Oberon makes it abundantly clear that, because THEY'RE quarreling, the mortal world is similarly messed up. Until Oberon and Titania are reconciled, the mortals are doomed to live in a world of chaos and confusion...which is exactly what happens.

Interesting fact: the classic song "here comes the bride" was written specifically for the lovers' wedding night scene.

The act to grab the viewers: my own opinion would mean any of the ones with fairies, probably the second. The whole idea of them is fascinating, and with a visual stimulation like the Fairy Queen herself, the audiance is interested and listens closer.

I think I would choose the scene where the jointer and others try to write the play in the forest.
I remember that scene best, and it is very Ironic, and funny (and surprising when he apears with a donkey's head)

intresting facts?
this is not the only play in a play shakepears uses. he uses the world of the play to make fun of the world outside it, builds up irony.

damn it, I studied this play, and loved it, and love shakepeare, can't believe I don't remeber more facts, or more details about the acts...
