HI! I have been doing dance for several years now and have both splits. It took a lot of work but I have a few stretches you can try. They are hard to explain, but someone on here asked a similar question so I asked my mom to take some pics of me doing the stretches. I can send them through email, but no offense or anything, but I don't want to waste my time loading them on the computer if I'm not getting the ten points. SO if you want detailed tips and pictures of stretches all you have to do is choose me as best answer. Good Luck!

You have to gradually make yourself flexible enough. A good way to start is by sitting against a wall so that you're stretched just a little, so it hurts but not too much, while watching TV or something. The slower and more gradually you work on it the longer the results will last.

If you want faster results, just stretch as often as you can. "Bouncing" where you force yourself into a position that hurts for just a moment, then go back, and do this repeatedly, is supposedly "bad for you," but I don't know why. It definitely works though. If you do this you have to keep doing the splits every day once you've gotten to the point where you can do them or else your body will lose it's flexibility really quickly.

Pull your muscles. Seriously this works if you do it once a week and stretch every day you can have any splits you want. it is kindof painful, but if you are serious about wanting them, then do it. My dance coach made us pull them like 3 times a week when I was little, and now i am so flexible.

You need to stretch, stretch and stretch more to do the splits, you can do them if you keep trying! you can also join gymnastics and that gets you trained for splits! best of luck!

doing the splits isn't something that you can usually just try it and be able to do it. though many probably can. just stretch all of the time and practice doing them. eventually you'll be able to do it. just continue to do it and try going a little lower each time and you'll get it!

Not really. You either are limber enough or you are not. Trying to force it will injure you. And don't listen to those who tell yout o stretch and work at it, because as I said, you can either do this or you can't. Some people's joints are not that flexible and again, you should not force it. I don't really know why you all consider this so important anyway. It isn't!
