I really like the name Alex and so does my daughter, but my husband pretty much hates it! I have about 2 more weeks left and am trying to convince him to like Alex but it isn't working. How do I convince himto like the name Alex.

Just call him "snotty" or "snot" for short, and then say, "Honey...it's either "Little Snot" or "Alexander" it's your choice. That should work. If not. Use the ol' "You have to sleep sometime." line. Make sure to smile bright and pretty and then walk away slowly.

I say you should come to a compromise. Use a name he likes for the first name and use Alex for the middle name, or the other way around.

Wait... are you a girl or a guy because your avatar is a boy but you said husband o.0 anyway lol I never liked the name Alex that much either... but maybe you should decide on another name you both like.

There is a lot of variations for the name Alex... (I'm assuming it's for a boy, correct me if I'm wrong!) Some suggestions... Alexander, Alexei, Alexis, Alexius, Alek, Alessandro, Alejandro, Alexen...
But if you can't convince him on a variation, well, there always has to be compromises. What other names do you like? What names does he like? My sister had to give up three of her favorite baby names because her husband didn't like them, but she still used names that she found that she loved just as well. Don't limit yourself, there's millions of more names out there!

Congrats! See what he thinks about other names with Alex in it such as Alexander. Or use his dads middle name plus Alex he might go for that. :P

Just like you can't convince someone to like mushrooms if they don't, you can't convince him to like a name he doesn't like sorry. Try compromise, maybe if he would be willing to use it as a middle name. Or try something that sounds like it or has a similar meaning. If worse comes to worse, both of you pick a list of baby names write them down and exchange lists, cross of names that you won't even consider then go from there, pick a first name from one list and a middle name from the other.
