I wear 34 (waist) by 32(length) and whatever pants I get seem to be to tight in that area when I sit. 36 is slightly too big around my waist, though I don't mind paying for alteration. What should I do, do I get a longer leg nth or bigger waist ?

Try looking for Italian designer names, they seem to design for a more athletic build which surprisingly includes a larger firmer rumpus.(stair master thing)

Do you have a large hiney?...I do...and when I sit it pulls in that area...but you probably are in between a 34 and 36 waist...so I would get a 36 and have them altered.

Go one size up and have them altered. Also, when sitting, try pulling your pants down as far as they will go naturally. Pants naturally crease inwards when you sit.

You need something with a longer inseam. Get them longer, then go get them altered at an alteration place.

Change the style and cut of your pants....usually pleated pants have more room.
