Actually, you got it wrong. Affirmative actions are not based on quantity, but are meant for a group that are less priviledged in the economy, therefore, the affirmative action is meant to correct the economic imbalances. Quantity doesnt always translate to power, ie being a majority, as sometimes minorities are able to have more economic power than the majority. Such is the case with chinese indonesians for example. Read up on that.
As for the affirmative action in the states, african americans in general have always been associated with poverty (ever heard of the ghetto?), to the point that you hear things such as racial profiling, i.e. the police stopping a black person for driving a luxury car, because he must be a thief, cuz no way he can afford that.
Power comes in two forms. Political power and economic power. Not in quantity. If it is, then we would have long have a people's government, where those in power/government listens to and are afraid of the people, instead of the other way around!
By the way, you should ask how the minorities in singapore are being treated. Yeah, preferential treatment for the majorities, just because. They've got no reasons/excuse at all for the preferential treatment given to the majority in singapore. How do you call that better?

Once upon a time, the original residents of Malaysia are the Malays. As Malaysia is located at a strategic sea route, many harbours in Malaysia turned into a worldwide commerce centre. This caused many people from around the world especially from China and India to migrate into Malaysia for business reason. Not long after, World War occured and British colonize Malaysia. During that period, racism among the people began. Before British return the ruling authority to the Malaysian rulers, the leaders from all the races made a deal to stop the racism among them. The deal was, the immigrant races such as the Indians and Chinese were recognize as Malaysia residents. However they still have to respect the rights and special treatment for Malays as they are the original resident of Malaysia.
I think this history might help you to answer your question.
Anyone, please correct me if i'm wrong ok..

...and yet singapore's full of people suing everybody all the time. even it's ruling party (since 1959) has a history of suing political opponents and media critics (refer to source). but hey, if that suits them well and if you think that's best, then so be it. as for malaysia being the 'only country in the world to have affirmative action for the majority', the system seems to be working just fine. plus, the 'minorities' in malaysia are pretty well off compared to those in singapore. have you thought about that??

Because the majority are Malaysians and the minorities are immigrants?. Why should the Malaysians and immigrants get the same benefits?.
The US gives affirmative action to only the blacks, Asians do not get the benefit of Affirmative Actions. I guess after 200 years, the blacks are still considered a little slow.

i've got have been given mixed perspectives in this. actual at one element in our history, affirmative action could have been a reliable thought. it incredibly is style of hard to help affirmative action whilst an African American has gained adequate votes to be a candidate for president. additionally, in my own adventure, I certainly have considered minorities given positions that they've been much less qualified for contained in the hopes that they could grow to be the placement. contained in the situations i'm questioning of, i think of they understood their limits, and carried themselves as nicely as they could contained in the direction of the placement. i've got self belief that persevering with alternatives contained in the present day merely creates new sufferers of discrminiation and is confusing to justify. Disadvantaging the present technology of white men does not suitable the incorrect committed against minorities from different generations. Addressing your adventure, I certainly have here questions suitable on your difficulty: - Do minorities keep on with for and not get carry of jobs? in the event that they do no longer keep on with, they gained't get jobs. - Is the applicant pool of applicants for jobs representive of the encompassing community? If minorities do no longer stay close to by using and don't keep on with, that could clarify the mixture. - Do you suspect that administration and your workers branch intentionally keep away from hiring minorities, or are there different aspects in play?
