I would start by pulling the fuses one at time, using a voltage meter to read any voltage drop. If you find a voltage drop look at that system very close. But before you do all the searching make sure your battery is good i.e. the bad cells. Your charging system can cause the same problem, the Alt. may be shorted.

First off, what have you done to the car as far as removing or installing something on the car? A battery will run a car for awhile on its reserve or stored charge. An alternator when it goes bad can produce just such a condition. You need to have the alternator checked if you have not dissassembled or reassembled something that could be pinching a wire

Does it do this with the ignition off or on? If it is with the ignition off, invest in the manual that has a wiring diagram, and find out what has power to it with the ignition off and isolate these systems. The alternator can have a shorted diode pack, that can drain the battery very quickly with the ignition on or off. If you have a clamp on current meter it can be helpful in tracing where the current draw is.

IF I were you I would have the battery charged and take one fuse out at a time to try to determine which circut has the short. When you determine this it should be much easier to pin point. It seems to me that a short that bad may be capable of starting a fire, so be careful and good luck....Dave.....

If you have a wire tester then you can isolate the problem.
