I've been offered a summer trip with the Cambridge College Programme in England. The trip costs around $8000 and I need a some ways to start raising money so I can go. Any suggestions?

There are several options, but if you are going to use the name of your school then you need to get permission.

Have a car wash or a bake sale; or both.

Get a job.

Ask local companies or businesses if they would make a donation to you for the trip. Include what you will learn on the trip and how it would benefit the community in your letter requesting funds.

Babysit or do yard work.

Have a raffle. Maybe a company will donate something to you that you can sell raffle tickets for.

All in all it is difficult to do a fundraiser by yourself and also when it is for a trip that may be educational, but also is for pleasure. We were able to raise about $8,000.00 doing the above things but there was a group of 9 of us doing this and it was a mission trip to build an orphanage. People are more likely to help out when you are doing something to help others.
