If she is pregnant, then she needs to see a doctor asap. She needs prenatal care. You cannot tell by feeling or looking at your stomach. She needs an ultrasound to know exactly how far she is. If she is 16weeks, she also is due to have her blood tests done to make sure everything is ok with baby. She won't be able to hide the pregnancy for long, only big t-shirts will work for a while. Its best for her to fess up that she is pregnant. Has she told her parents? She really needs help from grown -ups. She cannot do this alone and she cannot hide it. And most important, she must go and see a doctor to make sure that if she keeps the baby it is born healthy! Contact your local planned parenthood for assistance if she does not have a regular doctor.

You can't "suck in" a pregnancy. Start by getting an in home pregnancy test. If it comes up pregnant or if she's more than two weeks late on having her period, she needs to see a doctor. They need to check her for any chance of V.D. as well as checking her blood and sugar levels so that she can stay healthy. They will also be able to answer any questions she might have on what her options are. The longer she waits, the less options she has. Most important of all, she must get a parent or trusted adult involved to help her sort this all out. If she isn't comfortable with speaking to her parents, what about a teacher, counselor, an Aunt, family friend, minister, etc. ? This is NOT the time to try and "tough it out alone". This is something that can be VERY frightening even under the best of circumstances. If she is looking to stay anonymous, try looking in the yellow pages of the phone book under "planned parenthood". There is just too much at stake to go this alone. She needs support. She needs people who will help take care of her so that she can still make a good life for herself, finish school, etc. She's not the first person, or the last that this has happened to, it's the decisions that she makes, however, that will determine what happens now and in the future.

GO TO THE DOCTOR
SYMPTOMS:Have you noticed that your care provider tests your urine at every visit for traces of protein and sugar? This is an easy, non-invasive way to monitor you for the first signs of gestational diabetes. Read more about this disorder in this article: Understanding Gestational Diabetes: Introduction
Believe it or not, some studies have shown that up to 60% of all expectant fathers experience some symptoms of pregnancy. These include nausea, weight gain, mood swings and odd food cravings.
Are you really hating the dark spots or mask of pregnancy? Try to avoid the sun, it can increase the darkening.
Your fundus should be just below your belly button now.
Your cardiovascular system will react a little slower than usual now. This may cause you to feel faint if you stand up quickly. This is not harmful, just remember to compensate for it.
Due to the growth of your belly, your center of gravity is shifting lower, affecting your sense of balance.
Be careful to prevent bladder infections by practicing good toilet habits. Always go as soon as you feel the urge, empty your bladder completely and wipe front to back.
Baby:
The baby's bones are growing harder, stronger.
The little ones weight is almost up to half a pound now.
Meconium, the baby's first bowel movement, is beginning to accumulate in the bowel. It is made up of undigested debris from the amniotic fluid and various secretions of the digestive tract.
Your little boy's prostate gland is beginning to develop.
Though there is no direct exchange of blood between you and the baby, the placenta is transferring nutrients and oxygen from your blood to the baby via the umbilical cord.
Vernix, a white, cheesy textured substance, is now covering and protecting the baby's delicate skin.

No, she won't be able to hide it very long. Baggy clothes might help.
About 16 weeks, or 4 months, you start getting a little bigger. The baby feels like a large lump in the lower abdomen and she might start feeling little fluttering movements in her lower belly when the baby kicks.
You can get a pregnancy test for a buck at the dollar tree sometimes.
Besides, she needs to see a doctor. There are so many things that can go wrong, especially with teen pregnancies. She is at a higher risk for miscarriage, or other complications.

She needs to get to an OBGYN asap to have them ascertain how far she is along, to ensure that she is healthy (not having high protein in urine), that the baby is healthy, and that she is taking prenates (especially important to help prevent a cleft pallet and many other conditions that are formed from malnutrition). I would recommend to have her mother take her to her OBGYN? If there isn't one, go to the phone book...find out which hospital they are associated with. Look to adults and relatives for suggestions in this area as well. If she doesn't have insurance coverage, I highly suggest that she also take a visit to social services, asap.
She has to get over the idea of hiding her pregnancy from people. Its a little late for that...and it will only become more evident--if it hasn't become evident already. To "suck" the stomach in enough to "hide" her pregnancy is potentially dangerous for her and the fetus. I don't recommend it. In fact, she should obtain clothing appropriate--loose fitting and comfortable.
If the grandmother to be is not aware of the situation...I would make it so. It is beneficial to have an adult and parental support on her side at this time.

Sweety the best answer to this question would to tell her to go and buy a pregnacy test and take it ... If it comes out positive then she needs to go to the doctor even if it is just a clinic..and no she will not be able to suck in her stomach at 17 or 22 weeks because the baby hs already started changing her body by then, PLus she could hurt the baby.. She really needs to take a test and then go from there..It really would be good to go and get tested now...so she can start thinking about what she is going to do. Good luck to her and you...

She lives by herself? Well, she must have a job, then. And she must then be smart enough that she should have seen a doctor at least 12 weeks ago.
She won't be able to hide it reliably. She really needs to be getting medical attention. And support (financial, emotional, etc.) because having a baby is a major life change. Ask her to think about the baby's welfare.
Does she have relatives? She needs to connect with them. If she has the baby, they will be her baby's relatives, too. Where is the father? He has to be willing to contribute to the security of the baby on a regular basis.
There are social services available. Please tell her that isolation is not good for her and not good for her baby.

I think it depends on the person. My aunt hid her tummy on the way to America so that people wouldn't think she was pregnant but whatever. And from my experience, I knew a girl from Brazil who had a kid and was pregnant with another when she was 17. I think she was only in school for about one or two months and then she left. When she came back next year, she showed our group her little baby. =/
