Usually 10-15 minutes.... Your car needs to get to the proper operating temperature. Your oil needs to heat up and thin so it can flow through your engine, to all the people who say new cars don't need to warm up... that is incorrect.... cold oil is as thick as molasses..... start your car and drive when it is 10 degrees, you will cause extra wear on all parts of the engine.

Only a minute or two. Just long enough to build the oil pressure and get a little oil temp going on. Your engine really doesn't begin to heat up till you start driving it. Once your engine gets to opperating temp. the water in the engine is hot. Then the thermostat opens, allowing the water to run through the cooling system(ie the radiator) and into your cars heating system.
Just letting your car idle wastes gas, takes time, and is harder on the engine because it takes it longer to get to temp.

It would depend on how cold it is. If you sit in your car and let it warm up you can actually hear the difference of when it's not warm and when it's ready.

Depends how cold it is. Just keep an eye on your temp gauge, when it moves up from stone cold, you're good. Shouldn't take more than 5-6 minutes. 15 minutes is excessive

Since you have been given both wrong and correct answers, I will add another correct one.
You need only let it warm up briefly but you should drive it gently while it is still cold. i.e. no high RPM's, whether driving or standing still and no heavy application of gas, until it is up to temperature.

I don't, I run mine just long enough to get the oil flowing. As you are already dressed for the weather, a cold car is not the worst thing. It is illegal around here, our Mayor Pro-Tem got his stolen once.
