I have a Lee Ann Womack CD I received for Christmas, 2005. I just recently opened it and played it for the first, and was surprised to find that it had an extra song after what I thought was the 12th and final selection. The song is not mentioned anywhere on the CD or in the literature that came with it. I'm not that much into recorded music, but still I have to wonder if this is something that they do on a regular basis or do I have some sort of fluke here? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Even better than bonus tracks, I have CDs by Jennifer Nettles, Craig Morgan and Danielle Peck which, when played on a stereo CD player, have the tracks that are listed on the CD literature, but when played on a computer the bonus track plays as a video. (In the case of these three CDs, the songs in the videos are "What You Signed Up For" (JN), "What I Love About Sunday" (CM), and "I Don't" (DP).

That's been going on since nearly the first CD releases. Nirvana's Nevermind has a hidden or bonus track that plays about 2 minutes after the listed tracks finish as long as you leave it running. Some CD's have clues such as missing or skipped track numbers and there are CD's that also contain a video or two or applications that you can use on your computer. Just a nifty gifty some have and some don't.

It's called a bonus track. It will be on all of the same LeeAnn Womack cds. I have a My Chemical Romance cd with a bonus track. It's not something that's rare, but it's always kinda cool when you get a cd with one.
