I graduated from undergrad in 2003 with a bachelors and was wondering if anyone knows how long the credits are good for....like if I want to go back to the same school for a different degree. Can I use my general credits towards another degree? It was PSU....if that helps...Thanks

Generally, 7 years. But be warned different schools have different policies, so check with the Registrar's office or Office of Student Records.

You can typically use up to 60 credits towards another bachelors degree, even at the same university. That's why most advisers will tell you to go into a Master's program rather than get a second degree after you've graduated.

Want a Masters in something other than your degree? Most schools will let you take pre-requisite undergraduate courses before they'll admit you, but typically only 12-15 credits at the most.

Oh, and I'm PSU class of 1990.. We are - Penn State!

credit don't have an "expiration date" the way a loaf of bread does, yet there's a time shrink on their transferability. The thinking is that credit earned an prolonged time interior the previous in, say, psychology, might characterize innovations that are previous in a changing container, and would not be supported by new discoveries and new theories taught in present day training. for advantageous, credit might have an prolonged "shelf existence" in fields which do no longer substitute as lots, and there must be flexibility watching the college which you're inquiring for to settle for them. Your only spectacular path of action is to look into the two on line tiers and real, brick and mortar faculties (in case you're able to) to verify how long the credit will proceed to be "solid." a minimum of then you quite definately might understand what style of time shrink you're working with.

Generally all of your general courses are good for 7 years for new degree purposes. So you should be able to go back and take just the specialization courses for the new degree.

College credits don't expire! And since it's only 4 years ago, most likely that's not old enough for another school to say it's "too old." If it was 10 years ago, that might make a difference.

they are good for life buddy! unless requirements change and you may have to retake a couple of those classes, but as far as credits go you are good to go
