Well, I'd advise you buy snowboarding pants only if your skiing pants don't already have taped seams. If your ski pants don't have this, then you'll have your butt wet by the end of the day since you'll be on your butt most of the time, whether it's recovering from a fall, or fixing up your bindings. XD

If your ski pants aren't baggy, then this is probably a must. You need some room for big-time movement.

Hope this helps! :)

I know that people say that technically there is no difference between skiing and snowboarding pants... but if you look at the pants that the skiers wear on the mountain and the ones that the snowboarders wear... they're totally different!

I would advise buying some near the end of the season that might be a little big. Not so big that if you don't grow they won't still fit, but big enough to give you some room just in case.

Also, at the end of the season, stores start to put everything on sale! I've already seen at Sport Chalet that they're putting all the snow gear 30% off!

Good luck!

dont waste your time or money, just wait till the ski pants outgrow you, and if you still think youll need snowboard pants buy them now, they are on sale since its close to the end of the season, and maybe buy them a bit bigger than what youd normally wear, that way you can be sure that theyll fit next year, and if they are still a bit too big thats what snowboard pants have beltloops for

haha, everybody says dont get white pants, i have a pair and they are not dirty at all...They are not all white though, they have black mixed in newspaper graphics...How much do they cost, since it's your first time, are you going to go alot more often? If you can get them for less than 70 I would say get them bc that's cheap for snowboard pants...Otherwise, get a black pair or gray and leave the neon to park rats and pros....Neon is hot tho, got some new neff & airblaster this yr...if you wanna stand out, look at those brands but be prepared to pay at least 200 for the pants P.S. snowboarding is about fun, who cares what you look like

I hate to break this to you Scott, but there is no difference between ski and snowboard pants. There is no mystical difference between pants that make them better for one sport or another. I'd say, if you have waterproof pants already, save your money.

just wait untill next year to get pants, you wanna buy a good pair anyway so just save up your money and buy a better pair next season, no need to buy a pair when your only going once and Im sure no ones going to notice your wearing ski pants, unless maybe they are neon green or something.

Paul hit it right in the head. Its all marketing. Pants are Pants, just wait till you out grow the ones you are in.

I wouldnt worry about getting new ones if your packing it in for the season, anyway who cares if you are wearing ski or board pants anyway, its not a fashion show

+ check on the stores return policy yea?
