This is the exact same thing as an contested divorce where one party wants the divorce and the other doesnt, and the fight begins. The fighting gets ugly and nasty and the divorce still happens anyway

Sweetie, eloped means when you run off and get married. Is the person you married wanting an annulment? Or has the person you married decided to get a divorce, and you do not want to? If that is what has happened, maybe you would be better off getting the divorce instead of staying with someone who does not want to be married any longer. I wish you the best.

You mean stay married ?? Are you saying they eloped and now one wants to get divorced ? It makes things a little tougher but a contested divorce is still possible....... God bless

Normally, if one party wants to divorce, he /she files with the court. The other side can refuse to sign the paper, or put out tough conditions. The court will assign marriage counseling first.

If couple is separated for certain long enough time, the marriage ends, legally, by itself. It is better to face it than to run away.
