actually you can in many states. It seems logical that they should be treated as equals because well.. they are the same gender. :P

I think whomever is gay or bi believes in free love. It is this though that makes them feel that its ok to have emotions, thoughts, and feelings for another person. Maybe they never had a signifigant other like a brother or sister, or they just love this one person so much.. they cant live without them! Maybe they just imagine the same gender as being sexual too. still, a husband should be the man who is the yang to the women who completes him, or their yang...and vice versa. Its always known that opposites attract, yet if they want the same..the men want someone softer and more gentle like a women..and the women want something masculine like a man. This is just the majority opinion and that is what will always rule. Its just until now that the miniority has a voice in today's world. Ill never understand gays but Ill never understand women either..so I say more powert to ya

Funny that the answers have more to do with "getting stuff and bennies" rather than being permitted to live the life you want with your partner.

And others blame Republicans even though the most liberal states in the country won't give on this issue. New Your and California have a total ban on gay marriage, Massachusetts is in the process of reversing the courts ruling, and Vermont and New Jersey only provide second class status of civil unions.

But why does gvmt need to be involved in our relationships? Gvmt approved marriage only came about because of social programs like income tax and social security. Before the 1900's the federal gvmt didn't care who was married.

Get the gvmt OUT of the marriage business!

properly, some persons are asexual and have no intercourse force in any respect. some have an extraordinarily low one. He might have had an injury or ailment that forestalls sexual function. He could be gay and made the tragic mistake of thinking that marrying a woman might "treatment" him, which only isn't real. Your pal desires to get her husband to a physician and discover out if there's a actual reason he won't be able to have intercourse together with her--or she desires to start thinking approximately an anullment.

In some states, there are civil unions, which are only seen as legal in that state. Unfortunately, I believe that people still have blinders on when it comes to sexuality..even if it does not involve themselves directly. How does one's sexual preferences hinder on the lives of others? What happens in the bedroom, stays in the bedroom, as it should be. As for marriage, I know that my partner and I, although we are not " legally married" as a straight couple would be, will be and are forever married in our hearts! Great question! :)

Becaue that is how love works. I used to think this was not possible, but if you love someone enough no matter what sex it is, then I can understand why two people of the same sex could get and stay married, that is just how love does its thing.

If you love someone enough you can do any thing you want! Eventually we will get the same tax and other government benefits as married people...

Religion and old tradition.

Though there are some places that allow marriages, I think they are considered to be civil unions, not marriages.
