just set it to use 'energy saver'/sleep mode when you will be away from it for awhile (say 10 minutes of unuse).

There have been a number of polls on this subject and basically the results are about 50/50 for always on versus turning it off. Mine are on 80 to 90 percent of the time and have been for years. It is good to turn off every now and then to completely dump the memory. Conceder that hundreds of thousands are never turned off in businesses and government offices, except for repairs.

You should turn it off and save on electricity. If you are using any broadband connection, it is also safer to turn it off so hackers cannot access your PC. Some people say you extend the life of your PC if you do not turn it on and off. BAH HUMBUG! All my PCs I turn on and off without a problem for years.

its better if you leave it on all the time with surge protection. recomended. But turning it off and On will wear out the componets. hard drive motherboard ECT......
