is my SAT score that bad?

im in 8th grade, this is the 1st time i took the SATs and i got a 1420 on the new SATs. is it really that bad?

First of all, since you're in 8th grade and you're taking it for practice, I wouldn't pay much attention at all to your scores.

If you were further along - say a Junior in HS, I'd say that, while it's not truly horrible, it's not great. (I'm assuming you added up all three scores, since it's the new SAT.)

But as a 8th grader, don't worry about it.

SATs weren't written for 8th graders. You probably haven't even learned all the material that is covered on the SATs yet.
For an 8th grader, I would say it is a good score, unless you took both algebra and geometry already. If you did take those classes, then your math score is pretty accurate. Still, two years from now, you'll be a lot smarter and a much better test taker.

As the other people who answered said: you still have time to improve your score.

your score is not that bad since you are an 8th grader. By the time when you get into high school, the new SAT are evn harder, anyways keep up your good work.

First of all, what the hell are you doing taking the SATs in the 8th grade?

Second of all, YES, it's bad. Anything below 2000 is a VERY POOR score.
