HELP! When I plug in my ipod, my iTunes won't come up! It's plugged in all the way and everything!!!!?

I need major help! When ever I plug in my ipod, my iTunes won't come up and when I open it manually, it won't show that my device is plugged in. I can't transfer any songs to my ipod. I can buy them and burn disks, but I can't charge my ipod or put songs on it! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REALLY NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well try opening your itunes on the comp and the itunes will automatically recognize the ipod. If that doesn't work then there is something wrong with the cable.
