They are bullies!
The fact that they have to stick together to intimidate people into feeling smaller, lesser or less prettier proves it!
Tell her that when she walks past them, to remember that the reason they need power over others is because they feel weak and unsure inside. They need to make others feel bad in order to boost themselves up. Remember that!!!
Tell your sister to believe in herself, get on with her own life and steer clear of these girls. Encourage her to make her own friends. It doesnt matter who is pretty or not, anyway....... its how good you are to others and good attitude that counts.
So they get no points on that score eh?!
If they confront her personally, and intimidate her in any way, report the bullying. Bullies usually stop when confronted.
Good luck to your sister!

I would go out with her and spend some siter time with her, maybe somewhere where there are a bunch of kids her own age there or that normally go there, that don't already know her from school. Maybe a church function. These girs will get what is coming to them for what they are doing to others. But for now, your sister's self esteem is a priority and she wants to be accepted by the group and be a part of it, not just be accepted by her sister. Introducing her to a girl at a local function could be the best thing for her right now.

You could try asking her why the hell she cares so much about these people.
In a few years she wont be seeing them anymore. You could change her from that school. I'm going through the same thing and I don't see how it's teaching me a lesson to stay in a school that only depresses me.
If people are insulting her because of what the "cool" girls say then she should reply "wow, you were stupid enough to believe it?"

okay the popular group does that so they make themselves feel better. they are like you and me but they think they are better then everyone else. i've been there and done that and i stop cared what they think of me and i don't talk to them. the only time i talk to them if i am standing up to them and if i have to work with them for school. if they are making you think you are ugly and fat and you are not then stop thinking that and move on with your life. i think everyone goes through this if they are not popular.

Your sister is one lucky girl to have a sister like you who honestly cares about her sensitivity. Let her know that we are living in a world where there are so many young children who are themselves hurting, and that it is easier for them to avert their anger and hatred at her than it is for them to look inward at their own shortcomings. Tell her that she is a georgous butterfly and to flap her wings and speak up for herself and not cower into a cocoon. After all she is unique. Help her to cultivate her inner beauty by instructing her in the proper presentation of her posture and the display of her table manners and her everyday hygeine and etiquette. Sit down with her and devise a healthy eating plan. The two of you can learn to use chopsticks together. I'll bet that those hate mongers don't even know the proper use of silverware at the dinner table. Knowing how to use chopsticks will make them sit up and take notice. Also help her with her clothing selections, making sure that they are complementing her beautiful complexion and girlish figure and aren't just sleazy provocative clothing pieces put together just to draw attention. Practice with her the proper etiquette of sitting down and getting into and out of a car like a lady. Help her with her studies so that she can get all A's in her course work. Encourage her to take harder subjects, while all along reassuring her that you will be there at her side learning with her. That will really give those air-heads something to talk about. Go for walks with your sister to help her and you keep in shape. And while you two are doing all of this, TURN THAT IDIOT BOX TV OFF. As a matter of fact unplug it and donate it to charity.
