A group of 5 girls in college, all over 21, are going to Miami the last week of March. We want to go to the clubs and hang-out at the beach but we also want to see the diverse cultural side of the city, what can we do? I want to eat different ethnic foods and visit markets if there are any. What are the names of some good clubs we can go to? Also, what are the names of some good, yet inexpensive places to go jet-skiing or experience the everglades, if there are any? We'll be there for 7 days, 6 nights and we'll have a car, so we have the time to do a lot and the transportation to get there. Any suggestions?

Visit the Everglades for sure, you can go to Billy Swamp Safari to experience a little bit of the Everglades, visit all the different beaches. I recommend you rent a car since transportation can be an issue. Visit 8th street in Miami (calle ocho) so you can see and taste some of the Cuban culture that has become part of Miami. Visit Ft. Lauderdale, Coconut Grove, Villa Vizcaya Museum, if you can go to the Keys.

I would just like to say you will enjoy Miami from the moment you arrive here until the moment your purse is stolen. I'm kidding! You'll be fine, probably! Because the truth is that Miami is a terrific place, despite the criticisms you may have heard from ignorant yokel blowhards who shall remain nameless, such as U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo. As far as diverse...umm... we have to have some white restaurant here somewhere. On every block you will find hispanic food. The only things American here are Bk, MacD, Wendy's, etc. You should probably learn some spanish terms too.
``No dispare, por favor.'' (``Please do not shoot.'')
`Disculpe, dama o caballero.'' (``Excuse me, lady or horseman.'')
``¿Dónde está la playa con la gente desnuda?'' (``Where is the beach with the naked people?'')
`¿Dónde está el Rep. Tancredo?'' (``Where is the toilet?'')
And If you want to experience miles and miles of wet grass thats where you will go to the Everglades.
Lets see what else...Markets, yeah No. This is Miami not Little Rock we have Malls. Three on everyblock.

You will also need to learn how to get around in our city.
There are a few besic rules
1.Dont stop on Yellow
2.Dont stop on Red
3.Signaling is a sign of weakness
4.DO NOT GET ON/OFF I-95 (which ever applies)

Other Attractions are:
The Forest of Cranes: Miami boasts the world's largest outdoor collection of free-range construction cranes. Many of them have no apparent purpose other than to screw up traffic. There seem to be more of them every day. We suspect they are having wild crane sex at night.

South Beach: Last parking spot taken in 1999.
Ft. Lauderdale: plenty of parking
