you absolutely take that trade since you already have 2 workhorses in westbrook and parker. we don't even know if Jacobs can take on a full load since he barely carried the rock last year. he was mainly used in goal yard carries.

It really does depend on the format of the league. How many players can you keep from year to year? If there is some talent coming off of other teams this coming season, I would absolutely take the trade. Everyone is assuming that Jacobs will take on the same duties that Barber had last year, but that isn't set in stone. In fact, what with the increased popularity of two-back systems, it's more likely that Jacobs will end up splitting time as he really hasn't proven himself as an every-down back.
Just think about what would happen to Jacob's value if the Giants traded for another back, or spent an early pick on one. You likely wouldn't be able to get anything close to what you're being offered now.
Again, this all hinges on the league type. If you're only drafting rookies, it's not as good of a deal, but I'd still probably go with it. Look at this last year with rookie RBs. Jones-Drew, Maroney, Addai and Bush all had good fantasy seasons last year, and though it may have been an exceptional rookie crop, RBs still tend to have more success as rookies than most other skill positions.

would seem to be a trade that you couldn't NOT make. BUT Brandon Jacobs tough, I personally have been waiting for a "Jim Brown" style of back, that ISN'T a fullback, you know so he gotta have the speed and quickness to play running back. NOW if he does than he could blow up this year, especially because of NY's potent passing attack, which free's up the run. So my conclusion, check what the scouting reports say, about his speed and quickness. Than decide. SAFER bet, is taking the trade. I'd probably take the trade, because you can look for a team in need of a position player, and make a trade, when you notice them in need to climb on the draft board. Pull out some nice deals. TAKE THE TRADE!!!! and watch Jacobs either become a Mark Alstot, OR "____ _____" peace!

I wouldn't have let the guy finish the sentence before I took this trade. Word is NY is looking for a back in the mold of Barber to replace him and leave Jacobs in the goal line short yardage role. Even if he was the starter, with the two backs you got you could get a great reciever, QB, backup RB of equal value to Jacobs or Chicago's D for that matter. Hurry up before that dude sees these posts and rescinds his offer!

I think it depends on the type of keeper it is.
My gut reactiion is yes. People are assuming that Jaccobs is now going to be an every down back. I really doubt that's going to happen. Strike now while his value is over rated and before they get a rookie who will obviously take carries.
Dude...I take it back....do the trade...it doesn;'t even matter what system it is. Jaccobs is over valued....cash in while the stock is high.

Don't trade. Brandon Jacobs is likely to become the main back since Tiki left. The least he could do is give you TDs near the endzone. His productivity can only go up unless he gets a major injury.

do you have other needs? Yes this year draft is not very deep. But there are players this year that are going to make an immediate impact if they get drafted by the right team. My advice see what teams these top 20-25 guys go to this year before you make your decision.

if you have to start 3 RBs, then i would say keep jacobs, because he will score TDs if nothing else...however if those three are just your OTHER RBs and you don't need to start all of them, i would say take it, since you already have three good keeper league RBs and can use the picks to upgrade the rest of your team

for the 5th and 8th pick of the first round. i would do it. then trade for Marion barber III. I picked him up in the middle of the season and he took me all the way to the championship.

i would make that trade because you have two starting running backs and no one knows what jacobs is going to do ( injury etc.)
