I always keep a jar in the fridge/pantry just in case I don't have any fresh on hand. I also keep some garlic powder for the same reason, but the garlic powder is only useful if there is enough liquid in the dish to rehydrate it. As far as garlic goes, you can't beat fresh for flavor, but sometimes I don't eat it fast enough and a whole fist would go to waste.

That is a good question...answer is sorta...It still has some,health benifits but the main nutriens are affected due to time spent on a shelf and light exposure,fresh is alwys best ,and some is better than none,I suppose,I dont have web info,but you might try to google this question,or go to Wholefoods.com (the market) and see if you can ask there,something to consider,garlic comes in capsule form....but Id rather eat it...yum!

I would avoid the cooked garlic. because the cooking process damages the the health benefits.

The minced garlic and the fresh should be abou the same.

No it has to be fresh. If it is canned or in a jar it doesn't have the same potency.
