Quite normal. It's a hormone thing. Sometimes a doctor can help but not always. Its called hirsutism. It's extremely common in a condition called polycystic ovarian syndrome, but can happen for other reasons as well.

Young women in their late teens and twenties are at their "peak" when it comes to testosterone levels. Growing hair in unwanted places often occurs and there are many remedies. Hirsutisn, as it is called, can be a "normal" thing, but it can be caused by other things such as poly-cystic ovary disease and tumors that are secreting abnormal androgens (testosterone belongs to this group of hormones).
If this is something that other women in your family have experienced, then this is something you probably shouldn't worry about. There are things that your physician can do to help keep the hair growth to a minimum.
If no one else in your family has experienced this then you may need a more thorough medical workup. Elevated androgens are associated with many medical problems such as obesity and hypertension and may be associated with other hormonal problems. It may not be that your testosterone is too high, but your estrogens may be too low!
One last thing-- you may want to stay away from foods that contain a lot of indole-3-carbinol. This is a natural estrogen inhibitor and is found in the cabbage groups of vegetables, i.e. brussel sprouts, broccoli and asparagus. Anything high in zinc can also aggravate hirsutism.
Check out the references below and see your physician to make sure your are OK. Do a search on hirsutism and get the information for your doctor to help reduce the hair growth!

Many women grow hair on their nipples...not everyone does, but it's not incredibly rare. I doubt that this is a stage; you'll probably deal with these for the rest of your life. Just keep plucking them--try to get the roots and then maybe they'll stop growing back. If it gets to be more than just a couple at a time, ask your doctor about them.

Don't worry we all have our crosses to bear - have you tried mint tea? I know it sounds strange but there is evidence that this can reduce hair!
"MINT tea helps women lose unwanted body hair, docs have discovered.
Millions suffer from hirsutism — hair on the face, breasts and tum — caused by high levels of male hormones called androgens.
But a study of 21 women in Isparta, Turkey, found drinking two cups of mint tea a day reduced the hormone’s impact and lessened hair growth.
Dr Mehmet Tamer said: “It could be a good natural alternative.”

totally normal, they should be fine hairs and it caused by hormones only. if you have a hairy family it's ok to day that you will grow excess hair aswell... do the men in your family have hair on their backs or chests??? do you grown lots of hair on your legs or arms or lower back? any of these can be good indicatiors that you are pre disposed to excess hair grown. you can always teeze or shave, there arnt very many so they will go away. if it's a problem that is just killing you get electrolsis. Believe me your not the only one, it's just irrating? good luck

Black hairs around nipples aren't a problem. It is hormonal. A lot of girls have that. Cut them off or pull them out if they bother you. It is perfectly normal so don't fret

This is not gross but very, very, common. Most can be removed with electrolysis or lasers. Please, if it bothers you and it seems too , go have a visit with a practitioner who can perform one of the above procedures to remove the hairs.
The cost will range from $50 to $500 depending on what procedure you choose.

Ya its perfectly normal... best advice I have is just leave them... shaving them just makes it worse actually, they grow back.... thicker too. If you really want to know more about how to help get rid of them either go to the doctor or.... go to a book store where they could sell things on female problems and such. Hope this helps and don't worry.

Pretty normal. Just pluck them out when you have time. You will most likely have them the rest of your life unless your hormones change or the hair follicles die off.

It's most likely normal. One of my friends told me she has this problem. She plucks them or shaves them. Apparently it's been like that for years.
I read Cosmpolitan magazine every month. This has been addressed many times and it is normal. The magazine says to pluck them.
If your concerned, see your doctor.
