Ive been watching this season and to me the talent is just not as good this year.Could this be the beginning of the End for American Idol?I really havent seen anyone that could compete with people like kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood

yeah, it was good the first couple seasons, but it's just old now.

I am very down on American Idol this year. But...last year was, in my opinion, the BEST BY FAR, of any of the seasons. The top 6 and especially the top 4 could have made the finals during any of the other seasons. So...I think its hard to measure up to last year, so I'm really hoping that the girls pick it up tonight and the talent gets better fast...

I totally agree with you.This season is not that good compare to last season.They have an American Idol here in Columbus,Ohio every year when American Idol is on it's called Gimme The Mic Columbus,and the people here sang way better than the ones on American Idol.

I COMLETELY believe you! i began out observing at Season 4, and rather everybody ought to sing. and that i did no longer ever think of that the coach became unfair that season - everybody who could've been kicked off became kicked off (and interior the excellent suited order!). Season 5 became....style of wierd. The skills became nevertheless solid, yet with the aid of the top of the season I only did no longer experience that Taylor Hicks could have gained....or maybe made it to the right 5. Season 6 have been given even worse...maximum everybody ought to sing (no longer Sanjaya), yet there became some thing lacking. Amanda, Brooke, and Jason could no longer even sing. This year has no longer had "the excellent skills ever". And maximum of human beings (Carly, Michael, even Ramiele and David H.) have been booted lots too quickly. i'm no longer even prepared on any of them, yet they DO have extra ideal voices than some that stayed in for lots too long. So confident, the coach is headed downhill, and in the event that they do no longer do some thing to get extra ideal singers and to restoration the balloting equipment, it is going to hit all-time low.....it rather is only too undesirable, via fact it has the aptitude to be an spectacular coach.

I know right? Last night's performances were terrible. I don't see any of the guys making it through to the next round. People like Chris Daughtry, Elliot Yamin, Justin Guarini, Taylor Hicks, I don't see any guys as good as them. I wouldn't be surprised if the top six of American idol were all girls. And it's very shocking cause this year the most people auditioned yet not a lot of talent. Let's hope the girls performances change our minds. (I was very dissapointed with Sundance Head, cause he was my favorite)

I think it is running out of steam because people with real talent or who need to polish their talent get tired of being insulted and embarrassed without gaining anything but the ability to say they were on American Idol.

I agree its not great so far but I'm not going to give up just yet. I think we may also need to cut them a little slack as it really just began. I can only speak for myself but I also know last season spoiled me with the likes of Elliott and Chris.

Yeh, I kinda agree. Last night's performances were just ok (OMG - I sound like Simon). And last year I wasn't impressed with anyone other than Chris Daughtry. That Taylor Hicks that won last year was AWFUL, such a joke.

you are soooooooooooooooo right it really has just been lacking in talent this year. The auditions weren't even that funny. I am very dissappointed with it. I was watching ti last night and I was totally unimpressed by the men's singing. it nearly put me to sleep BORING

The singers on last night's show were pretty bad. I thought the best were #5 and #7. I don't know their names yet. One was the beat-box guy and the other one looked like Justin Timberlake.

I think you're on to something! it's getting tired to me with the fake contestants auditioning first of all and like you said, the talent is kinda sorta off this season.
