Liberals: Is there any human activity that government ought not regulate/oversee?

The question is addressed to liberals, rather than libertarians. I would particularly like to hear from those of you over the age of 30. Do you think that the average person is incredibly stupid and needs to be "shown the way" by those who are morally and intellectually superior or are you just control freaks?

Our personal religious beliefs, reproductive rights, right to protest including burning the flag if so inclined to be that idiotic, to not tap our phones, emails or open our letters without permission. To challange and disagree with our government without being called unpatriotic.

By the way the Patriot Act makes anything the liberals came up with like super freedom. Talk about control. Next we'll be saying seig heil to ol' Georgie boy. You call that not control?

If what you do has real impact on other people, then you need to be responsible, and the Official government is the last resort for holding people responsible for their actions.

What you read, write, worship, have sex with, ingest or in any other way involve only yourself and a few consensual friends, or any activity that does not affect any other person, is your own business and the government has no accountability to hold you to.

The govenment ought not regulate/oversee medical chioces a woman makes with her womb (especially if she hasn't been already gestating month after month after month after month).

I think conservatives should be asked this one, bush wants to add an anti-gay marriage amendment to the constitution, conservatives wants to tell other people how long their loved ones have to remain in a coma that they will never recover from, conservatives want to tell old people that they have to live out their final days in pain and can not leave with some dignity if they wish to, who is the control freak here...

me personally... any personal issue... who should get married, who should have sex, who should have a gun, where or how you should worship, what you should eat, drink and smoke... basically all personal issues that don't violate someone else's life/happiness...

the Republicans have their own controls, with abortion, drugs, sex, what's on TV, movies and in music and more regulations... in fact, I probably like less restrictions than Repubicans overall...

most of the issues I approve of legislation are economy regulations... personally...
