If so, how do you feel about this season (Season II). We are thorougly disappointed in the gratuitous and graphic violence.

It is just like last season. The violence and the nudity are points the story teller is trying to make that this was a passionate time in history. Sex and violence were norms. I think it is brilliant in that respect. Too much of history has been sanitized for your ignorence. It is time people learn that the good old days were not as they have appeared in the past. The truth is graphic. And sometimes hiding the graphic nature of history is just a lie. I don't see it as gratuitous. Calligula, that was gratuitous. this is tame by comparison.

I do watch it and I am not sure why your disappointed in the violence. The first season was as bloody and graphic. Its the first show/film I've seen the paints what I think to be a more accurate and true portrayal of Rome as the brutal place it was most like. So, if your disappointed....then you don't have much more to take as it while not be renewed for a season 3.
