It was a lie and it brought many votes to our president's party. Fortunately, not enough.
Also, can more people please answer my previous question? It is something I really need opinions for.

How many conservatives still believe our president's campaign lie that democrats will raise everyone's taxes?

It was a lie and it brought many votes to our president's party. Fortunately, not enough.

Umm last time I checked, it was enough. He never lied though..Democrats probably will raise taxes (to help pay for the deficit of the currently wasteful war. I'm not a republican and I'm not a democrat by the way. I dont choose sides like that) when they have control of the President's seat. Even though the war is wasteful (it wasn't when it started), you can't blame things 100% on Republicans. There were democrats in Congress that could've stepped up more, but they didn't. Now the democrats are realizing that if they disagree with the war, they'll get more votes by saying that "The war has always caused unnessecary deaths". Well, it's their fault too.

But your question doesn't make sense.

Of course Democrats will raise taxes. There is no choice. Bush basically spent like crazy at the same time he cut taxes, which is the equivalent of having a drop in income, then buying more and more on your credit cards. The only way to put things in balance is to adjust taxes.

Now it may well be just rollbacks of the tax cuts Bush did for the wealthy, but it will still go up. And since he plunged us into such a deficit, we will have to bring them up to make up for what he did.

Republicans used to criticize Democrats as "Tax and Spend", but you know what? That's the right order. Get the money, then you can spend it. Bush is maxing out the national credit card, and the economy only looks good the same way you look prosperous if you buy a Lexus SUV and swimming pools and stuff on credit.

The best economic time we've had since goodness knows when - ending up with a SURPLUS, no less - was under a Democrat, from 1992 to 2000. Within no short time, we were at a major deficit - under a Republican (Bush).

So, yes, conservatives will believe it because it's true, but the tricky point is that it's necessary.

Actually, true fiscal conservatives would never act like Bush is. Bush is a social conservative, and a liberal spender in the worst way.

How is it a lie? Democrats are all about more involvement from the government. This results in higher taxes to fund these involvements. Nothing is free. Republicans are about less Government involvement. This results in less taxes to fund these involvements. If you knew anything about politics, you would know this is how it works.

Gee, since they already have and you seem to know absolutely nothing about it you must be a Democrat.

Uneducated and stupid.
