I came from a big city (St. Paul/Mpls) to live in small (less than 1000) town. You may be missing some opportunities, but you are also missing a lot of crime, pollution, noise and traffic. I would never live in a big city again.

My dear friend,
All human beings have their own disadvantages. But living in a small town is not at all a disadvantage because you enjoy a lot where all these people are not enjoying.
you enjoy the following:
1. nature
2. good environment
3. good kind hearted peoples
4. good reputation
5. real friends
6. blessings from the well-wishers
In city we enjoys:
1. pollution
2. heavy traffic
3. rubbish peoples
4. robbers
......
you want to do:
1. change your dignity
2. work hard
3. use the oppurtunities truthfully
4. be kind hearted person
5. obey your parents
then it moves you to the success in your
life.
congratulations for your splendid success in your foture life.

Disadvantage is the wrong word. They are different lifestyles, and it depends on what your looking for, a personal preference. I grew up in a very rural area, and fled to the city. I found my comfort zone in a small town. I would not have known without trying it.

That depends on you. The answer for me was yes. But no matter. You can move later. Small towns are great for old people, but they are NOT the best choice for kids. In spite of what everyone else thinks.
There's nothing to do but get in trouble.
