Yes, and they should do it themselves with out asking people on Yahoo Answers to do it for them. If they look up or figure out the answer themselves they actually learn something.

Yes. Most people are not capible of remembering everything that they are told in school over an 8 hour day, homework is a nessecary repitition of the differet things that will help you remember better. Also, the more you practice something the better you get at it. Even if your failry good at something the first time you will get better at it the more you try it.
Besides that it helps you prepare for college or university. The earlier you get into the habbit of study and doing your homework regularly the easier it is to continue in higher education. Even when you finish school and enter the real world you will be a more reliable person because you will have good work habbits and understand the meaning of the word deadline.

Yes, I think so. Homework is an extension of classroom work and it aids learners in the mastery of concepts. In additiion,it enables learners to recognise at an early that learning is not limited to school. Also, homework allows learners to understand the linkage between the home and the school, since parents, too, should play an active role in their children's education. Homework, therefore, makes it possible for parents to share in their children's education.
Educators have long discovered that children learn best by doing. Since homework extends the limited school day learners are able to investigate, discover and better understand concepts within the confines of their home under the guidance of their parents, if necessary. All in all, homework allows children to gain a clearer insight of concepts as they work at their own pace.

I think they should have some, but I strongly feel that a lot of elementary schools are just passing the buck. They send all the work home with the kids. What are they doing in class?
