i lost my job and bank account was negative, its been paid off and check systems has me as the dispute has been paid, however will another bank reject me because of this, will it be a problem? or should i just not mention it when applying for an account?

I don't think they can not give you an account. I know I have one that has been unpaid for about a year and a half now but I have still been able to change banks and open a new account whenever I move. I move alot.

Well, banks check any past discrepancies on accounts. If the dispute has been paid, I would give it a try.

Normally banks run info through Chexsystems as a standard practice. Before you go in a bank I would call them first and ask. I would also try a Credit Union bank because they are way more personable than a larger bank.

It depends on the bank's policy. Some say absolutely not, others may okay it through their management, and others don't even bother checking your record.

banks check that when you apply, so it could come up. just depends if they are willing to "risk it" with you or not.
