At first it seems like she died trying to save Dan. The man in the other boat is looking around and no one is on the boat and you can hear the baby crying, that's all. Then, all of a sudden we see Amy and Dan on the boat. Are they alive or dead? Can someone help?

My guess is that she didn't save Dan in time so he died...
And she couldn't stand all that happened, so she killed herself and left her baby there to cry.
That's why we see the guy in the tugboat looking around and finding nobody but the baby...
Another guess? Maybe she was with the baby all along trying to calm her baby down. Technically the tugboat guy didn't SEE anybody, but all we could hear was the baby.
