this is on a honda cbr600. I'm trying to adjust the bolt on the manual cam chain tensioner I just put in, but I'm having trouble fitting any tools into that tight space. Will the bike run normally if I have the airbox completely off? This is just for a few minutes while I am adjusting the bolt.

NOOOOOO!!!!!! very bad for your engine, small dust and dirt particals that you dont even see will get into your motor and it does damage every time,it may take a while before it KILLS yor bike but it will damage it . if you must put a clamp on air filter over your carb .this will work just fine and protect your engine.

If possible clamp a rag around the intake, don't let the carb suck it in.

If you're not riding the bike, just running it while you're working on it, everything will be fine.

just make sure you do it in a clean environment. you do not want any little particles entering the engine, but yes you can do it.....
