The jury verdict hasn't come in yet, first of all. If *he* wins (and if I've got this right) then his story is that he learned about Valerie Plame's identity from the press and was just chatting about it, not the other way around. If the prosecutor wins, then he's more clearly on the hook for disclosing her identity as an agent (although the charge against him now is simply "perjury" for lying about that).
If he loses the lawsuit, then he still probably wouldn't be called a traitor because he revealed Plame's identity to American press, not directly to the enemy. It's a fine line, but a line nevertheless.
Commentators keep talking about whether, if Libby loses, Bush will pardon him. I think that would be the nail in Bush's public-opinion coffin, myself.

It has not been proven as a fact just yet. Besides, the wrong man is being charged. Hows about charging the real loud mouth, Dick Cheney. Libby was his talking puppet and we all know that. How anyone could cover up for the shooter is beyond logic. Cheney is sitting back with that s** eating grin on his face saying, I GotEm Again. I would beleive any car sales person on this earth before I would beleive Cheney. He is Weasel family.

Only the identity of "field agents" is secret. Annalist's and administrator's identities are not secret, especially after they leave the CIA.
