since i have installed service pack 2 on my win xp home edition my wireless connection started to go off very often, and every time i have to repair it to have the connection back again, what might be the solution

Make sure that after to installed SP2 you also ran another Microsoft Update to make sure you are not missing any updates for SP2 http://update.microsoft.com

Also, you may want to uninstall the wireless adapter (via device manager) and let it reinstall itself.

Right-click MyComputer > Manage > Device manager > expand the Network adapters > right-click on the wireless and choose uninstall > Then right-click Network Adapeters and choose Scan for hardware changes. (it will reinstall)

I don't think Windows XP SP2 is the problem, I would suggest updating your computer. If you have already done this, contact your local service provider. I would say, that there is a problem with you connection by from your company.

If you are using a wireless card try reinstalling the drivers for it.
