The plunger is the way to go but if you do not have one try taking a metal coathanger and undo the twist at the top of it. Now you pull it out fairly straight with a slight bend at the one end. Take the bent end and put it in the toilet with the idea of pushing it down the hole at the exit of the toilet. Inside the hole the flow goes upward and over a hump which is there to form a water seal and thus prevent sewer gas coming into the room. Just keep working it and twisting it to see if you can either push what is plugging or attempt to snag it and pull it back out. Use rubber gloves if you have any. Should work , good hunting!

If the toilet drains down a little, get a bucket or something that will hold a bit of water and when you can, pour it in quickly and sometimes it will unclog the clog.

Try it dumping a bucket of water just so it doesn't overflow into the toilet. If and when you use the plunger tried to suck up on it to relieve the release. Good luck

Got a shop vac? take the blower end, shove it in the hole, put wet rags around it to seal it up and turn on the blower. it works on regular drains. never drano in a toilet pipe--its made of lead usually.
