When I was in middle school my friends and I always wrote long notes to each other during boring classes. We even illustrated them with cartoons! And then we'd give each other the notes in the hallway between periods, so in the next period we'd have something to read. You can make it look like you're taking notes, too, so the teacher doesn't catch on. But make sure that you still pay enough attention to what's going on in class so you can do well on exams!
You can also do homework for other classes in a class where you're not doing much. That way you can get your homework done during school and then when you get out of school you can spend your evening doing whatever you want.
