I suggest leave it in until you see a doctor. The doctor might give you something to help If you take it out, the hole might close on you if it is a infection.

If you're having pain in your ear, the first step is to immediately take out the earring. Next, if there is any redness immediately around the region, wash it out well, dry it then clean it with rubbing alcohol and allow it to settle.

If at any stage you notice any foul smells from the region or any yellow discharge, see a doctor immediately to get started on antibiotics. Leave your ear without an earring until you are pain free for at least five days.

If you have been using this earring for a long time with no problems, then it should be okay eventually to use it again, but if not, you may be allergic to a component in the earring and it should not be worn.

Try taking it out. Right after you do, put on rubbing alcohol on it (thats supposed to clean it and kinda acts like a disinfector). When my earing was infected that's what i had to do.
