I have a problem with my norton internet security 2007. It keeps saying I need to update basic PC sercurity and has a big fat red 'X' on it saying im at risk and has another 'X' next to protection updates. I click the button 'fix now' and it begins to fix, says it has finished fixing but I still have the 'at risk' warning. On top of this my windows defender won't update either. HELP!

Ok I have uninstalled windows defender but that hasn't fixed the problem im having with norton. Downloading AVG Free from that website, hopefully it will fix it but is taking uber long to download!

You could just change to free security software such as on http://www.compcentral.net/downloads.php?Cat=11
Look for AVG, it is free and works cool.
Norton is still very good but it sometimes has problems with other software.

Get rid of Norton its more trouble than its worth.Use AVG,ZoneAlarm,Spybot and AD-Aware.Or if you wanna pay use Spyware Doctor which comes with free anti-virus.

I agree with the above comment to dump Norton altogether.
Your PC will thank you for it!

i had the same problem with Norton in the end i got rid of it and got
avasti free anti virus and free comodo firewall

Update your other virus protections. E.G if you have avg anti virus update it. Hopefully ive helped.
if not contact symantec

uninstall windows defender, it messes up norton.
