Use milk (I'm serious) put some milk on a napkin and hold it on the sore for 5 to 10 minutes. If that doesn't work try carmex, or Abreva. Hope this helps.

Most pharmacies have cocoa butter with Vitamin E, at a very reasonable cost. The combination is excellent to cure cold sores and also to nourish your skin.

There is the abreva which is kinda pricey...or what you can do is at night when you go to bed put some clear nail polish on and in the morning pull it off{it hurts} but it will dry it out in no time

Try apple cider vinegar on a couple of cotton wool balls, dead set, it will at the very least greatly reduce angriness straight away. Dabbed on continually over a course of a couple of days will eliminate it completely.
****The apple cider vinegar should be organic, try Braggs***
