CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Former Sen. John Edwards jabbed gently at Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday in the first all-candidates forum of the 2008 Democratic presidential campaign, saying her refusal to disavow her 2002 vote on Iraq was "between her and her conscience."

"It's not for me to judge," said Edwards, who — like Clinton — voted in 2002 to authorize the invasion of Iraq, but unlike her, has since apologized for his vote.

I really don't think Edwards has a chance at all in the next election, but it's interesting to see all the barbs already being bandied about towards each other in both of the two main parties. Whichever candidates begins to fall behind to any extent, look for the mudslinging to start in order to draw attention to their campaign. My guess is that you are correct.... Edwards will go into the mud first.

I don't particularly like or dislike Edwards, but he threw this number out the other day 100 dollars per person per month for Universal Health Care.

You can do the math if you want 3.6 trillion dollars over 10 years, talk about leaving our kids to pay off some debt.

I'm not sure... that's really tame as politics goes...

while it may be a nudge, he could have said much worse... I mean he said "it's not for me to judge"? he could have went to town judging...

but it's still really early... and it seems that everyone is always wallowing in the mud about 4 months before the election...

To me Edwards looks like the best of the realistic possibilities. ANY Democrat legally and transparently elected would be a restoration of the Constitution.

Seriously? John Edwards is a smarmy lawyer. He was born from the mud.
