I bought a cherry barb from Petco when it was on sale for a dollar. I've had the cherry barb for about 1.5 months and it still looks pretty small. How long does it take for it to reach its full adult size?

How small is it exactly? Cherry barbs only grow to 1.5 inches. Also you should know that cherry barbs are a shoaling fish, and need groups of at least 6. So it is very likely stressed from being the only one of its kind.
