They will do as well as their bullpen does. It's the same story as every year.

They will win 87 games. I say this because how many times in the past few years have you heard "This could be the Phillies year" and then they go out and are medicore? Too many.
Their starting rotation is pretty good but their bullpen really needed to be addresed this offseason and they did nothing. The top half of their batting order is one of the best but it really falls off with the C, RF, 3B and CF positions as far as offense.
However, if Hamels can stay healthy (which seems unlikely) and pitches to his potential they will be giving a Mets a run for the NL East.

The Phillies should have a better year than last year, because their starting rotation of Myers, Hamels, Garcia, Eaton, and Moyer is much better than last years of Myers, Lieber, Madsen, Lidle, and Floyd. And the Phils still have Lieber and could trade him for a reliever. The Phillies had a much better 2nd half last year once Hamels and Moyer started pitching.
The bullpen for the Phils is the thing I would be worried about. Overall, I expect a pretty tight race between the Mets, Braves, and Phils. Mets have a huge bullpen advantage and good hitting, but their starting pitching is very suspect.

Thinking the Phillies will win is like believing in the easter bunny and tooth fairy.
They are like the old Soviet union, in the 5th year of a 2 year rebuilding plan.
Like any other team, it comes down to how good their pitching is, will Ryan Howard have a year like last year, will Pat Burrell quit striking out so much, and will they get off to a good start, like winning 6 of their 1st 10 games.
They COULD win 95 games, as for the playoffs, depends who they play.
Go, Phils!!!

Albert Pujols was robbed of the MVP award. Ryan Howard was awesome but Pujols should have been given the crown. I'm not a Cardinals fan but I know a lot of fans agree with me. As to how the Phillies will do? I think their GM Pat Gillick is an idiot. He gave up on his team too soon and sent away the player who I know would've been the difference to win the wild card in last year's playoffs. I'm sure Bobby Abreu would agree with me. The Phillies will not make the playoffs.

It's basically going to depend on how the bullpen holds up and if Pat Burrell can produce the way he's capable of producing. If the bullpen does what it needs to do and Burrell gets about 115-120 RBI, the Phillies should win about 95 games.

I think they'll win the division. Their lineup is VERY good, a superb middle of the order, and even a solid bottom of the order in Helms and Barajas. If Myers and Hamels improve more and become 1a, 1b type pitchers, they're in good shape. Then they have Garcia, another solid pitcher, but he may have trouble in the homer friendly park. But I do also agree with the previous poster who said they will only be as good as their bullpen.
